Grading System

Our ratings consist of two parts:  The First part entails giving “crescents” based on the overall experience we feel you will have at the restaurant.  The Second part entails formatting 6 different qualifiers to help fine tune the ratings even further.

The Crescents

FIVE CRESCENTS: (Extraordinary) Transcendent. A one-of-a-kind, world-class experience.

FOUR CRESCENTS: (Excellent) Superior. Memorable, high-quality menus frequently accompanied by exciting environs and/or savvy service.

THREE CRESCENTS: (Great) Few items are exceptional enough to come back and eat.  But it lacks other elements needed for an excellent restaurant.

TWO CRESCENTS: (Good) Solid places that beckon with generally appealing cooking.

ONE CRESCENT: (Fair) Just OK. A place not worth rushing back to. But, it might have something worth recommending: A view, a single dish, friendly service, lively scene.

NOTHING: (Poor) Below-average restaurants.
